Pattipola Place of Sri Lanka

Pattipola is one of very beautiful villages (rural Towns) of Sri Lanka which is situated at Nuwaraeliya district and closed to the border of Nuwaraeliya and Badulla districts. Pattipola high 1893m above sea level and very cool place. Pattipola in at on the way of Horton plains from Nuwaraeliya. Therefore several tourists automatically pass and rest at Pattipola cool place.

Pattipola is famous for cool, Railway station, Railway tunnel 18 and also pattipola is situated on the way to the Horton plains, worlds end, Bakers fall, Totupala mountain and Kirigalpoththa mountain. Pattipola railway station is situated between Ohiya railway station and Ambewela railway station. Pattipola is Highest railway station of Sri Lanka. Ambewela New Zealand farm and Ambewela milk powder factory is also very closed  to Pattipola. East side of Pattipola Udamala mountain can be seen and west side of Pattipola Totupola mountain can be seen.

Very beautiful flowers are grown on the railway at Pattipola. There is a place called Summit Level which is highest pot of Sri Lanka Railway and which is 1898m high above sea level. Summit level is at 3Km to Ohiya side from Pattipola railway station.

Pattipola to Horton plans way is less than 12km. Between the Horton plains and Pattipola entrance of Totupala mountain can be seen which is 2nd Higher summit of Sri Lanka. When travel to Pattipola to Horton several small lakes can be seen. The narrow road is to travel to Horton plains and when we travel it can be seen very beautiful unforgettable sceneries.

The special and secret legend story is available in Pattipola. Earlier people created a tunnel to get water into Welimada region at under Pattipola railway station. This water tunnel is very much long, more than 300m and which was made with broaches by people.

In the morning pattipola is very cool and afternoon some what comfortable. In evening the mist come and covered every everything.
